So. Here you are, on my dinky little blog site.
I’ve decided to have zero expectations for this venture, as the popularity of blogging tends to correlate with the disappearance of quality television. And let’s be serious: We live in The Golden Age of TV. There are a dozen shows you could binge right now instead of reading the two-bit opinions of a complete stranger. But for those of you who still appreciate the written word–complete with capitalization and proper punctuation–I hope to provide a little speck of cyber space to scratch you right where you itch. (Metaphorically, of course.)
If you’re anything like me, you perhaps crave fresh slices of notebook paper, a pen with silky-smooth ink, and a quiet room in which to contemplate the world around you. Each day you notice the simplest of things, the odd, neurotic behavior of others (but mostly your own) and wonder, “Is this really happening? What the eff is wrong with humanity?” Or maybe, just when you’re ready to throw up your hands at the selfishness of our species you experience the smallest act of kindness and think, “Okay. Maybe all hope is not lost.”
So the purpose of this project is to capture those moments of human interaction–the weird, the beautiful, and the I-may-have-just-shit-my-pants-funny–in order to make a little more sense of our time on this planet. Maybe you’ll read on, or maybe you already bailed to watch BoJack Horseman (which I completely endorse, by the way. But hopefully you’ll do that in addition to being a part of this little community).
And so, here’s to you, Dear Reader. Let’s raise a craft beer to one another over the interwebs and realize that we have more in common than we think.
We are not alone.
