Good morning, Dear Reader.
I hope the weekend was satisfying, in whatever collection of activity that means for you and yours.
Because here we are again: another start of another week.
(gently rips off a slice of notebook paper, crumples and tosses it, then uncaps a pen for a brand new draft)
Fresh start, yo.
1. Listen to your body, Snap. By nature, I am a tired person. Even on a good day, with a short workout and healthy eating, I’m ready to lie down by 7 PM. Tops. Who knows why, but those are the breaks. Anyway, it’s been liberating to embrace this reality. Why push myself to the brink of complete exhaustion? No one can do it all in a day. I’d rather focus on quality, not quantity.
2. Speak up. It’s so much easier said than done. So much easier. But with each passing day I’m reminded that life is short. Be who you are. Tip-toeing around it for the sake of others is childish. I’m an adult with my own opinions, and you can take it or leave it, yo.
3. Focus. Breathe. Listen. Savor the here and now. Remember that moments are fleeting. Let tomorrow worry about itself.
