A Humble, Bumbling Mess.

A Small(ish) Rant

. . .

Ugh. This post is going to be. . . well, I don’t know. Some sort of toxic mess of self-reflection, frustration, and most likely, curse words.

It’s going to be like a spilled pot of boiling pasta:

A goddamn disaster.

‘Cuz I gotta get these thoughts out, yo.

It is, after all, why I write.

So feel free to read. Or don’t. It’s okay.

. . .

I get very annoyed with pomp and circumstance.

Very annoyed.

I’m not saying everything has to be a paper-plate, hole-y jeans occasion.

But let’s focus on substance, friends.

You can wear your heels and fill your days with IMPORTANT MEETINGS.

But what do you really stand for?

What are you accomplishing?

Because sometimes real results are the ones you can’t put on paper.

. . .

I have been accused of having an “attitude” from time to time.

I’m opinionated, yes.

And just because I ask common-sense questions and stay true to my values does not mean I “have an attitude”.

I simply refuse to be spoon-fed bullshit, and then expected to smile.

. . .

I do not have all the answers.

I’m a slow reader, with a surprisingly limited vocabulary.

And I’m an English teacher.

But I’m also a human being, and so are you.

So maybe it’s time to give up the ghost.

Nobody thinks you’re perfect anyway.

. . .

Not everything is about you.

. . .

Wash your face, Snap.

Put on your cozy socks and curl up with your sweet husband and fur babies.

Feel those weird and wonderful kicks, and hold onto hope for a humane future.

Surely, we can do better than this.

  1. I try to do my best to focus on myself solely and to offer the best version of me to the world. Outside of that I feel we have no control over much else.

    Have a great day!

    1. Thanks for your comment, friend. You’re right: all we can control is ourselves. πŸ•Š

  3. “Limited vocabulary” and “English teacher”, you say – what’s a dictionary for !

I’d say, it’s not about telling meanings of words but about growing an interest of looking up dictionary,
    because,

    “Perfection is not a reality,
    And imperfection is beauty.”

    Wow, I just wrote a two-liner poem !
