Snippets of SnapDragon

Hello, Dear Reader.

Do you ever take a moment just to wonder?

Who are we?

Why are we here?

Where are we going?

Alas, not one of us knows.

Why do we write?

Why do we read?

Why do we engage in conversation?

Surely, we do it to grow.

So here I am, in all uncertain terms, ready to share my fleeting thoughts with whoever is out there to read them.

And that, dear ones, is as soothing a salve as any.

SnapDragon’s Two-Bit Musings for Today:

1. Invest in Your Nest.

I’ve always been a homebody. But lately I’ve been especially thankful for all that our home has to offer. It might be messy and cluttered at times, but it is our refuge. It is a shelter of healing. Every blanket, pillow, and luxurious body product has a part to play. I love you, Sweet House.

2. Listen.

Humans. . .we talk. (And talk and talk.) It can be a bit much. So many of us interrupt each other, desperate to be heard. Me? I’d rather sit back and listen, and wait for my words to truly count.

3. Feed Your Strengths.

I am ridiculously bad at quite a few things. Let’s see:

-Math

-Giving Geographic Directions

-Cooking Without a Recipe

So what am I good at? Let me focus on those instead:

–Planning & Organizing. I am very good at leaving written instructions. I like to think through what questions people might have, or what could go wrong. I’m basically a master of leaving plans for a substitute. (This is a skill, no?)

–Giving The Benefit of the Doubt. I tend to get along with pretty much everybody. I’ve befriended many, and pride myself on looking past people’s quirks and flaws. God knows I have a few.

–Putting a Bird on It. I’ve always been prone to decoration. I love stickers. I love posters. I love bedazzling things great and small. Because. . . well, why not? Why wouldn’t you pick the cute one? Cute things spark passion, spark discussion. And we could all use a little more of that, friend.
