SnapDragon (re)introduces herself to The Interwebs.
(whispers) “What’s a SnapDragon. . .?”

Hi. Iām SnapDragon. Well, not really. Itās just a nom de plume because I have anxiety and itās easier that way.
So, Iāll start with the basics. Iām a 30-something wife, mom, and woman with a passion for all things authentic. I love contemporary fiction, travel, delicious food, and quality artistry. And byĀ quality artistryĀ I mean music, cinema, paintings, and other creations that are authentically produced. Iām not interested in performers or ghost-writers. I want the real-deal, made-with-her-own-hands experience. True quality takes yearsāmaybe even a lifetimeāof dedication, practice, and experience. We live in a world where most people try to get a Ph.D on their lunch break, so I have the utmost respect for true artists (of any medium) who create and produce original work. Lifeās too short to waste on cheap imitations. I can’t. I won’t.
Iām also a certified high school English teacher. I taught for the better part of a decade in a high-risk, urban area. In short, I met teens from all around the world, and aged about twenty years from the stress of it all. But I also had the time of my life. Those students taught me invaluable lessons about life I will never forget. Iāll return to the classroom one day, but for now Iām home, and grateful.
Iām working on my first novel, which I vow to submit for publication by 2027, the year I turn the Big 4-0. I also paint expressionist pieces, which you can view on my Instagram @snippetsofsnapdragon. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed by my desire to create that I sit on the couch and watch hours of Food Network instead. It’s an artist’s curse, I suppose. The Overwhelm.
Hmm, what else, what else? I love living a simple life with my husband, two cats, and our sweet new baby. I love being home, under a blanket, all cozied up. What can I say? It’s life in the fast lane, yo. I have no desire for high-risk adventure, but delight in the fictitious mishaps of the silver screen. So many stories, so little time.
But above all, I just want to be an authentic person. Whether itās through my creative output or day-to-day interactions, I hope to spread a little positivity, intelligence, and compassion to others.
Because here I am, and here you are, and I know we can all do great things with the time we have.
So it’s nice to meet ya, love.
Let’s be friends.
