Five Reasons Why I’m a Screw-Up.

A Humble Reflection by SnapDragon X.

5. I’ve Fallen Asleep For Like Every Movie, Ever.

Okay. That’s a slight exaggeration. But if it’s past 7 o’ clock? Chances are I’m out like a light within twenty minutes. I don’t try to do it. I just. . . want to be comfortable. And the next thing I know, my husband is asking, “Did you fall asleep?” and we both know the answer.

4. I cannot be trusted in a TJ Maxx.

I mean, come on. It’s like a bargain-priced scavenger hunt. Even though I have drawers full of sheets and tea towels, and more notepads than one person could ever need in her academic lifetime, I cannot help myself. Washcloths with smiling pineapples on them? Yes, please.

3. I eat my feelings.

I’m an adult. And like Jerry Seinfeld pointed out, I can have a cookie if I want a cookie. Stopping for a large coldbrew with extra ice, and a breakfast burrito with extra cheese is one of my greatest pleasures in life. Bad day? I think I deserve a milkshake, no? You want to go out? I already ate, but let’s do it!

2. I Burn Out.

I like to give most things my 110 per cent. I’m the person who starts the school year with plans to wake up at 4:30, eat a balanced breakfast, and paint up my face before leaving the house with a well-thought-out lunch. And I will. But by Thanksgiving I’m struggling to remember my own name, and by Valentine’s Day I’m running out the door with a messy bun and a smear of chapstick.

1. I Close The Door.

I’ve lost some friends over the years. Sometimes relationships have a way of changing. Sometimes you suddenly realize their toxicity. Sometimes you realize there’s simply nothing there. And like with most things, I’m an all-or-nothing kind of friend.

  1. Same on many points. The falling asleep early? That’s me especially. 🙂

  2. That’s not a screw-up, it’s being a normal human. 🙂

  3. The last three points spoke loudly. Sigh. Being human is the most challenging of tasks!

  4. I LOVE notebooks and have them everywhere❣️❣️

If you’re a screw up, then you’re a beautiful screwup and we all share the same (or altered versions) of our screwups.

I like to call it being human and I try to improve just ONE that I believe will have the most helpful impact and try to stick with that one first. 😉😂 I got sick of giving in when I tried to do too much 🤪

Sadly, some friends connect with us for a season or a reason but aren’t meant to stay. Sometimes we do this for others. ❤️🤗
